Theodore History & Team Record
Hong Kong racing enthusiast (and millionaire) Teddy Yip first dipped his toe into the Formula One arena in 1978 and learned quickly that it is much harder than it looks! The one car team managed to qualify for just one race (Rosberg in South Africa) and skipped the 1980 season in an attempt to regroup. At the end of the 1980 season however, Yip bought the assets of the defunct Shadow team and returned to the Grand Prix circus. The team never found any degree of success, or major sponsorship and the financial strain became too much for Yip. At the end of the 1982 season the team merged with Mo Nunn's Ensign operation.
