Sacramento, CA recording studio operating from 1996 to 2001.

History

Founded in 1996 by Justin DeHart AKA Doctor Echo when noise complaints from neighbors forced him to relocate from his flat on F St, Sacramento to a commercial building on 17th Street. members of his band The Steady Ups, as well as roommate Craig “Lab Assistant” Oliveira, helped build the new studio.

The space was outfitted with rehearsal rooms as well as full recording facilities. Living and working at this studio, DeHart laid the foundation for many future mixes and projects.

The studio moved again in 1999 into an 3000 sq ft abandoned clothing store called Joe’s Style Shop. Leaving the front marquee a recording studio with rehearsal rooms was set up, spacious enough to house a stage hosting art as well as music shows regularly. [1]

Artists such as The Storytellers, Blackalicious, Filibuster, Frank Jordan and The Original Heads recorded there.

The studio closed in 2001 when DeHart relocated to Southern California.
