History & Team Record

London car dealer John Goldie entered a March for John Watson at the non-Championship Victory Race at Brands Hatch in 1972, finishing 6th and made plans to enter the 1973 F1 World Championship using a Brabham BT37. However these plans were put on hold when Watson badly broke his leg when he crashed in the Race of Champions at Brands Hatch in March. The team ran a BT42 with some help from the works team for the 1974 season and performed reasonably well, with Watson scoring a point with a 6th place finish in Monaco. Encouraged by the progress, the team attempted to enter a second car at the French GP for Carlos Pace but he failed to qualify. Switching to the new BT44 from the German GP, Watson performed well and scored points on two more occasions, but Goldie's team did not run again.
