Son of former F1 driver Saturo Nakajima, the young Japanese became part of the Toyota young driver program and made his debut with Williams in the last race of the 2007 season after Alex Wurz announced his retirement. 2008 saw the young Japanese drive for the full season, running quite well and picking up a few points though the team as a whole struggled for pace. His performances were good enough to warrant a second season with the team in 2009.
